About Project Hope

Matthew 25:37- 40  states  ”Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?  When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?  Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

Under the leadership of Evangelist Norma King, our Project Hope Food Pantry/clothes closet was established in 2009.  We operate twice monthly, 2nd and 4th Saturdays providing grocery bags and used clothing. We currently serve 85-100 clients. Most of our clients have a church home; however, we invite them to join us in worship whenever possible. In our mission to Reset, Rebound, Rebuild, we hope to have ministers/evangelistic ministry come in and pray, and encourage them on a monthly basis.

We do begin each morning with prayer and invite them to participate. We recently installed a television above the sign in desk where they can watch DVDs of some of our pre-recorded church services. We play praise and worship CDs and they enjoy the fellowship, some come in dancing away as they happily collect what is provided for them.

It is our hope going forward that we re-introduce the following to further interact with our pantry clients and community:

  • Annual Thanksgiving Fellowship Dinner,
  • Installation of a permanent clothes closet
  • Delivery of grocery bags to those that are sick and shut-in

By God’s grace assisting us, it is our hope that we will go through a hard reset, rebound and rebuilding process and find our place in kingdom building. GNLC’s Project Hope Food Pantry stand at 14 volunteers strong and growing ready to do exploits for God. Please continue to pray for us as we strive for excellence God, that His perfect will be perfected in us and through us.
