About Family Ministry
Sticking with our theme for 2018, the Family Ministry will:
Reset – As we look ahead the GNLC Family Ministry seeks the Lord to reset our families and community because the devil is actively trying to destroy the family unit. It gives us consolation to know that our precious Lord has already paved the way for us and will restore us to wholeness.
Psalms 51 states, “Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.”
This scripture provides the necessary assurance that God has already ordered our steps for a strong reset.
Rebound – The way Family Ministries plans on rebounding is by engaging families in discussions that focus on a wide-range of issues that affect families.Some issues to discuss include: communication, parenting, education, and mental and physical health. So often in communities of color, mental health is overlooked. Although you may not be able to see a physical cut, emotional pain is real and has the potential to affect your self-esteem and overall health. We want families to be able to bounce back to wholeness by being equipped with knowledge because it makes the ultimate difference on how you live your life.
Rebuild – It is our desire to cater to and be inclusive of all types of families. As the world changes, so does the makeup of households. Therefore, we wish to minister to the single parent, widowed, single by choice, and blended families etc. Our goal is to be a strong resource and source of support for all kinds of families attending this church.
It is our desire to provide tools that will rebuild our families with strong spiritual armor that will allow us to face and overcome the trials, heartaches, and heartbreaks.
Our Vision
To provide the support needed to build strong families in our local church and community. To bring healing where there is hurt: To minister to the entire family through relationship and discipleship.
Our Mission
We will partner with our families to build stronger relationships among all. Our family ministry will provide the help and support needed for growth, maturity, and communication. We will accomplish this by providing support through workshops, one on one counseling, and make resources available to educate our families on matters of importance. To help families in their daily walk with Christ, in order to build stronger homes.
